Experiencing issues while trying to change my site URL, is there another way?

    In March I had registered the domain URL, engineeringtechtoday.com and over the past few months I have decided to expand my site and make it more universal so I want to edit my registered domain url. Everywhere I looked it said go to settings>general on the dashboard sidebar and there you should see a place that says Site Address (URL), however, on mine I do not have that. I am wondering if there is a way I can modify my url without having to pay for a new one.

    Hi there!

    I believe there might be a little bit of confusion between your WordPress.com site URL and your custom domain name. If you want to change your WordPress.com site URL which is, engineeringtechnologytoday.wordpress.com.

    While that can be changed your custom domain name: engineeringtechtoday.com cannot be changed as domain names rely solely on the spelling – that cannot be changed. If you want to change that you will need to purchase a new domain name.
