  I’ve been trying to renew my domain, throughaviatorsunglasses.com for a couple months unsuccessfully and now it has expired. Please help!

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey there,

  I checked with our registrar and throughaviatorsunglasses.com is now in a redemption period. You can still renew your domain through us, but it is now a more expensive and complicated process to do so. Our registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 we charge to renew the domain. The good news is that this is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.

  Your other option is to wait until the redemption period is over so that the domain becomes available for registration again. Domains are usually in redemption for approximately 80 days, but with this option, you run
  the risk of someone else jumping in front of you to purchase the domain before you get the chance.

  Please let me know if you want to proceed with paying the late renewal fee in the attempt to reclaim the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because the domain can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.

  I would suggest enabling the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about losing control over your domain in the future.

  I definitely want to renew with the late fee. Can you let please let me know next steps. Isn’t an option to renew with late fee in my account.

  I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore throughaviatorsunglasses.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.

  Yes. I have restored the domain and it is now reconnected to your WordPress.com site. I also checked the nameservers and they are still pointing to Bluehost as well – so you are good to go!

  I have been on chat with Bluehost support for over two hours and they are saying that the nameservers are not pointing to Bluehost.

  Now I just got off the phone with Wild West Domains, they said “According to the external information on whatsmydns.net…. your domain is not currently propagating to bluehost nameservers. WordPress needs to update your DNS in order for your website to connect.”

  Interesting…WWD are telling you and me two different things.

  I received this email on 2/15 at 2:52PM

  Dear Darnell,

  Thank you for contacting us. The domain throughaviatorsunglasses.com has been redeemed and is now active.

  Please contact us if you need further assistance.

  However, I checked the whois data and it is still in redemption

  Also, if you check here, your domain is pointing to Bluehost from your account. The issue must be that they mistakenly kept your domain in redemption. I will contact them and see what is going on.
