Hello! I’m trying to transfer my domain to wordpress.com, and I’m receiving a message that says that my domain has expired. I recently renewed the domain, so I’m not sure why I’m receiving that message.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We have a support document on “Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar” please read it here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/Please reply here as Staff @thesacredpath asked you the domain name which you’re trying to transfer so Staff would be able to help you with that.

Thanks so much for your reply! The domain name I’m trying to transfer is emilysessentialeats.com.

Thank you — I can see you made a purchase in June, but that was after the domain was in redemption. The only way to get a domain back when it’s in redemption is to pay the $80 redemption fee in addition to renewal fees. We have more information here:
Would you like us to make an invoice for redemption?

Hello,
I’ll be able to make that payment on July 13th. Will I still be able to make the payment and redeem the domain on that date?
Thank you!
Emily

If you don’t want to pay the extra $80 fee now, you can allow the domain expiration process to continue. There is no guarantee it will still be in Redemption on the 13th. If the domain passes out of Redemption, it will go up for auction, and if no one buys it, it will be released after a few months. At that point, whoever gets to it first can buy it at the regular price. Please be aware this is a risky option, especially if the domain could be in demand.
If someone does buy it before you, though, it can be extremely difficult and expensive, if not impossible to get the domain back. Timing is everything in domain recovery, so let us know what you’d like to do.
