Expired Domain and no "Renew" button option in My Upgrades – How do I renew?

    The domain marylanddecksandporches.com was purchased as an upgrade domain by our previous social media consultant and never transferred to our company’s wordpress account (it still shows as being purchased/owned by the consultant’s wordpress account, no longer associated with our company blog, and no longer with admin privileges). The domain expired on March 25, 2013. Unfortunately there is no “Renew” button in My Upgrades. According to your advice online, I should contact support immediately to get this resolved. I understand there may be a grace period or I may need to pay an $80 redemption fee. Can you please advise on how I can renew at this point? Thanks!

  • Hi there, domains belong to the user who purchased them, so we’ll need permission from the domain owner in order to transfer it to your account.

    Could you please ask the consultant to log into their WordPress.com account and post in this thread, giving us permission to transfer marylanddecksandporches.com to you? As soon as that’s done I’ll make the switch so you can renew it. Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply Kathryn.
    I checked with her and unfortunately the consultant’s WP account was suspended and she no longer can log into that account “33social”. Could she send you an email from her email account that was linked that her WP account, verifying that you can transfer the domain directly to me?
    Let me know the best plan of action. Thanks.
