Expired domain name with Bluehost

    Hi! About two weeks ago my domain name (www.starlitsirena.com) expired while I was out of town and had no access to internet, so I was unable to renew it. However, I decided against renewing it and I just wanted to continue my blog with http://www.starlitsirena.wordpress.com if it’s possible. Right now, when I open the website, it’s locked and opens a completely different page. And I have no idea how to drop the domain name so that my blog becomes .wordpress.com. Please advise me on how I should proceed. Thank you so much in advance!

    Hi there,

    starlitsirena.wordpress.com does not exist. I checked under your account and you do not have a WordPress.com blog. starlitsirena.com is self-hosted blog at Bluehost that is connected to your account via JetPack.

    I would advise contacting Bluehost in regards to your site. if you want the site hosted with WordPress.com, you can transfer it over. Our support page provides instructions on how to do so:

    Hi

    On July 21st my domain http://mommyreflects.com expired while I was out of the country and was not accessing my email. Now when I access my site I am redirected to http://mommyreflects.wordpress.com and the content is old and dated. How can I recover my domain and website.

    I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore mommyreflects.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.

    hi darnelldibbles!
    my site smarterbrunei.org has been expired for 6 months. our IT provider resigned and we never heard from him again. The bad news is, he only gave us the bluehost account info. i tried renewing my bluehost domain. Unfortunately i still cant connect to the wordpress site. how can i recover my site? would really appreciate your response. thanks!

    Hi there!

    Where is your site hosted? Bluehost as well? I would contact you IT provider and receive that information. Unfortunately, you are referring to a self-hosted site and domain which we do not support because we do not have access to either of them.

    The best bet is to contact your IT provider, or Bluehost should be able to assist you if your site is hosted with them.
