Expired website

Our website is past the renewal due date and we have been locked out of access because someone changed the email associated with the account. We need to renew our subscription and get access to our website. I need to talk to someone on how to get it back up and running. HELP!!!!

Yes that is correct. We think someone changed the email address associated with the account and got this ‘fake’url. THere is no website associated with it. Our URL is http://www.groundworkmadison.com.
I looked at the three ways we can gain access to it and I am not sure I understand any of it.

You will be able to recover the account through proof of ownership. It sounds like you’ve already reviewed the account recovery form at
If you can’t reset the password and/or lost access to the email address that is tied to the account then this is the only way forward.
Try looking for your last renewal which was in June 2018. With that transaction ID you can recover the account.
I’ve also extended the expiration until August 1st to give you some time to get things sorted.

Would you be able to give us another week extension? The person I work with that has WP experience has been out of town. Maybe until the end of next week?

No we don’t. It expired on July 21st. We got the expiration email. I think that a new account somehow got started but it is not our website because there is no website there. Read this thread please….

The domain, groundworkmadison.com, expires on 22 July 2020. You can check this yourself by doing a Whois lookup on the domain.
If you received an email saying otherwise, that was likely sent in error.
I think that a new account somehow got started but it is not our website because there is no website there.

groundworkmadison648865989, is one year old, has never owned any sites with us, and has never bought any domains from us.The domain, groundworkmadison.com, belongs to a different account which has owned that domain since 2014. There hasn’t been any email changes on that account for years, until around six hours ago, which I assume was you after you’d logged into the correct account.

Yes, thanks, we were able to get into the account yesterday.
One more thing, we logged into whois.net and found that on July 22nd, the day after it expired, Wild West purchased our domain. We assume that they want to sell it back to us. We are confused, however, as to why we can still log into it.
