Expiring Posts without a plugin

  Is there a way to set a post to expire WITHOUT A PLUGIN so that is stops showing on a given date?

  No it isn’t. This feature is not available for blogs hosted on WordPress.com unless you upgrade to the Business Plan to use plugins.

  So the site I am working on is actually able to use plugins. But I would have to use a plugin to do this? There is not a work around?
