External Domain Mapping

    I’m attempting to link our website on WordPress to a domain we own via GoDaddy. When I try to link the domain using your troubleshooting guide, which is telling me it’s free as part of our current plan, it sends me to the checkout for a $13 update. However, when I attempt to pay it there is an error message: ‘Sorry, that plan is not compatible with this site.’ How can I link my domain to your website hosting service?

    https://hatchetbrewing.wpcomstaging.com used to be a Business Plan site, but that plan expired when it wasn’t renewed by May 8.

    Several notification emails were sent both before and after the plan expired.

    You can purchase a new Business Plan for the site and re-map the domain via https://wordpress.com/plans

    Or, if you’d like to purchase a lower plan to re-map the domain (this will require at least a Personal Plan), please let us know so we can downgrade the site (which may result in the loss of any content added while it was a Business Plan site).
