Extra Charge of $99 for adding New Domain

  We do NOT want the premium upgrade, we would just like to add a simple domain. Why are we being made to pay $99 to add our domain?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Registering a new domain or mapping an existing domain on WordPressdotcom require an upgrade plan. You can also do so with the Personal plan at $36/year. See here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Hi there,

  You can register a new domain with the Personal plan — as justjennifer mentioned. Add the plan to your cart before the domain. If the domain is added first, the Premium plan is selected automatically.
