Facebook Integration Not Working

    I turned on and linked the Facebook Integration to repost content to my facebook page, however it’s not working – nothing is being updated or posted automatically.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Did you recently make any changes on Facebook’s end, like updating your email address or password? For how long have new posts not been sharing automatically?

    Please go to My Site ->Sharing and disconnect Facebook there.

    Next go to https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications and remove WordPress there.

    Clear your browser cache and cookies, and log back into both WordPress.com and Facebook, and then try reconnecting.

    Let me know if your first new post after doing that again fails to Publicize.

    Hmm, my wordpress isn't appearing in my facebook apps – maybe that's why it's not working. How do I add this app?

    And to answer your question, it's never worked.

  • If WordPress isn’t appearing in your Facebook settings, it means you’ve never given your WordPress.com account permission to post to your Facebook account. When you previously connected something might have gone wrong in the process, making it appear connected on our end, while it’s not connected on Facebook’s end.

    I can see a Facebook connection on your Sharing page. Is that still the old connection? Please disconnect it and let me know so I can make sure it’s completely removed on our end.

    Then clear your browser cache and cookies and try to reconnect.

    Hi there,
    I disconnected Facebook, cleared cache and browser history. Logged back in and tried to reconnect it, however I keep getting a message: “An active access token must be used to access publicized connections.”
    The facebook connection button is stuck: greyed out “connecting”
    What should I do now?

  • When you cleared browser history, did you specifically clear cookies as well? If not, please make sure you clear those.

    Then also please make sure that you have third-party cookies activated in your browser:
