Facebook Publicize does not include a link
-
Facebook publicize doesn’t include a link to the blog anymore. It was brought to my attention this morning when someone liked my blog post activity on Facebook. I looked and found that when I publicized my recent post to Facebook, Facebook shared the first few lines of the post, and then the photos I uploaded to WordPress – no link to the actual blog. The post provides a link to the WordPress Facebook page and a link to the WordPress Facebook app. Is this a known issue? Is this something I should reach out to Facebook about?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
I haven’t seen this happen before. Can you take a screenshot of what the post looks like in Facebook and upload it to your Media Library?
Can you also send me a link to the post that should have been linked?
-
Sure – the screenshot can be seen here
The URL for the post is here
In the Facebook example, the first instance of “WordPress” links to the WordPress Facebook page, the second links to the WordPress app page. Clicking the images simply opens the images in Facebook.
I have not tried manually linking to the blog post in a Facebook status so I’m not sure if that will yield the same behavior or not.
Thank you for looking into this!

Thanks for that info! I was able to recreate most of this, except in my testing the title of the article is included as a link in my test post:
This seems to be related to the galleries included in your posts, and not the content. I’m sure sharing the link manually through Facebook would work just fine.
I’m going to do a little more testing and see if I can figure out why your post title didn’t get shared. I’ll let you know what I find.
