Facebook – WordPress Sharing to a Page – An error occurred while connecting the account.

    Facebook was set-up to publish new posts to a Facebook Page under Sharing > Publicize Your Posts. At some point this week the functionality died, although it still showed as connected. Not seeing a way to diagnose, I disconnected Facebook and then reconnected. In the pop-up everything worked and I was able to choose the correct page and save. However, when I got back to the WordPress Sharing page I had a very nondescript error telling me that connecting it failed. Multiple attempts, same error.

    More information: investigating errors on the page I’m seeing

    “Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT”

    and

    “locked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn’t pass access control check: Redirect is not allowed for a preflight request.”

    We’re aware of this issue, but it’s a problem on Facebook’s end.
