Failed Refund for Domain Registration
-
I accidently registered the wrong domain and followed the proper procedures to request the refund of $18 within the 48 hour period (Cancelled it almost immidiately-under 1 hour) however when trying to process it, I get an error message stating that I am not the owner of this registered domain even though I am and am logged in under the account it was created. Not sure how to proceed but I would like a refund so that I can move forward with registering the right domain. I really enjoy the services offered by wordpress but this is pretty frustrating. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The blog I need help with is not the blog listed above. The domain in question is himynameisjoey.com.

Hi there, I would be glad to cancel himynameisjoey.com for you on this end. Just a heads-up that you may never be able to register this domain again anywhere else, so you should be 100% sure that you don’t want it before I go ahead.
Could you please confirm here that you’re certain you want to cancel himynameisjoey.com and I’ll be glad to take care of it.

After careful consideration I think it might be best to keep it. I would hate to see it go to waste and I am sure I can brainstorm to make good use of it. However, I noticed that when I search http://www.himynameisjoey.com it still shows as http://www.himynameisjoeydotcom.wordpress.com in the url. How do I rectify this? Sorry I’m new to this.

No worries! You can set himynameisjoey.com as the primary domain – the one visitors see in the address bar – by heading to your dashboard under Store > Domains:

Kathryn, thanks for response and sorry for changing my mind (and thank you for making me double think my hasty decision!). I was wondering if you could help me with an additional issue I had. A few months ago I had no idea what I was doing and created a separate account to create the bones of blog I want to work on instead of creating the blog under my existing account. Is there any way to get that blog under my current account instead of having to log in two separate accounts? If I need to repost this somewhere else I understand just thought I would ask while you were assisting my careless self. Thanks!

No problem, it’s my pleasure!
Sure, I can help you consolidate your accounts. Could you start by letting me know the address of the other blog? Thanks!

Thanks! Since that site was created under another account, as you said, all we’ll need now is confirmation from the other account that you agree to the transfer.
What I’m going to do is sent an email to the address on the charmbirdcity account, and you can just reply to that email confirming the ownership transfer. If you don’t get the email within the next hour, just let me know.

All done – charmbirdcity.wordpress.com is now owned by rantalize . The old user is still on the site as well – it’s up to you whether you want to keep it or not.
Just let me know if you need help with anything else!

You are the best! Thank you so very much for all of your help! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
