Failed to retrieve all domains

Could you share which version of Chrome you’re using? You can find that by going to chrome:version in your browser.
It does seem that this is browser specific, so if we could figure out some additional common factors, that would be great. Thanks for sharing these details and for emailing over those screenshots.

I have an older Chromebook. I’m on version 103.0.5060.132 ( and can’t upgrade as my Chromebook is no longer supported )

Thanks for that – that helps! Doing a bit of research, it looks like Google has stopped supporting your device based on this Google forums post and version 103 of the Chrome browser was released two years ago.
There are constant updates to the editor, the WordPress software, and WordPress.com as a whole. There are also continual updates to the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP coding languages used to create WordPress.com and many other websites. And it is likely that it was an update to any one of these things that caused this to stop working for you. Additionally, the WordPress software will only support the most recent two versions of the Chrome browser.
As you mentioned, Google only allowed updates on your device for 10 years and the last update was back in 2022 and your device is no longer supported. The issue is that your operating system/browser isn’t compatible with modern versions of WordPress, and unfortunately we have no way to get around that here.
I know that wasn’t the answer you were looking for, but I do hope that clarifies things.
