fake wordpress account followers?

    I manage a small community-related blog, and recently there seems to be several fake followers who have set up generic WordPress accounts and pages. Is there a way to filter these out or discourage them? The blog is not searchable so not sure how or why they are attracted to our site. Thank you.

    It’s a publicly accessible site which can be found in the WordPress.com Reader.

    Please keep in mind, just because they don’t have any sites themselves, doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in what you’re saying, or that they didn’t sign up specifically to follow your site.

    The only way to fully control who can follow your site is to make it private site: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/privacy-settings/
