  Hi there

  I’ve just received an email alerting me that a new website has been made using my email address that I haven’t requested.

  Could you please ensure this website is deleted and removed from my account

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  What is the website in question? And what is the FROM address from which you received that email, as well as the address where you received it?

  The WordPress.com account you’re using to post here has not had any activity in quite some time, and we haven’t recently sent you any emails except for notifications on this forum post and a coupon code for a promotion we were running last week.

  The email came from (email visible only to moderators and staff) and site looks to be;

  Okay, neither that site nor that email has anything to do with WordPress.com.

  allybegg.com is a stand-alone WordPress site using the open source software found on WordPress.org. wordpress[at]allybegg.com is the default sender address the WordPress software creates for a site that uses it – the domain after the @ is what tells you what site sent the email; the wordpress before it is just a username.

  So what likely happened here is that someone used your email to create a guest account on that site. It was either an honest mistake – someone with a very similar email to yours making a typo – or it’s a bot programmed to create hundreds of guest accounts on the site using emails obtained from a list somewhere, to try and bring down that site.

  Either way, there’s nothing we can do from our end about this, as that site is not on our servers and we don’t control any aspect of it. The only person that can help is the owner of that specific site.

  My recommendation is to just ignore this. The existence of that account cannot in any way harm you, and the site owner will likely remove it themselves when they become aware of this. If you start getting more of these for other sites, it would confirm that your email is being used by a bot. In that case, all you can really do is set up an email filter to automatically delete these.
