faulty function of name server fields?

  Hello. I tried to change the name servers for my domain, as I need to move to another host. But as soon as I click on “save changes” the names i have inserted modify. Sometimes they go back to the original names, sometimes the second one disappears. I don’t understand wether the request has been submitted or not. If I leave the page and go back to it, I see everything back to the way it was before. Since I know it may take up to 72 hours, I just can’t wait that long to test-check that the changes have been saved. I need this done asap. Am I supposed to receive an email to notify me of the change? Am I doing something wrong?

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry for the trouble changing your domain’s name servers. Can you let me know what name servers you’re trying to save for your domain? I can take a look and see what’s going on with them.

  thanks for replying!
  Well I just copied and pasted the names given to me by my new registrar.

  ns1.ams8.siteground.eu
  ns2.ams8.siteground.eu

  For some reason though as soon as hit “save” one of the two goes back to the original wordpress name.

  I really need help with this, I’m really behind on my schedule :(

  It does confirm me that the operation was completed and that I need to wait up to 72 hrs but that little fact just puzzles me, and I did this a couple days ago, and I haven’t received any emails or anything yet.

  Thanks for letting me know those name servers. I just re-entered them for your domain, and it looks like both of them stuck this time. I’m sorry for the trouble you kept running into with this!

  It can sometimes take up to 72 hours for domain changes like this to take effect everywhere after the correct name servers are changed. That process is called domain propagation. You won’t get an email about it — the change is already saved on our end, so the wait just depends on how long it takes for the change to propagate. You can check that propagation here:
