FB app not zoomable for my WP site

    I share link posts onto Facebook directly from my WP site. I also include my WP site’s url in Facebook status copy. On desktop, these links lead right to my WP site when clicked, as intended.

    However, when using the FB mobile app in this way, I have a problem:

    When the FB mobile app user taps the post link (or the url as described in the post) on iPhone, the link works and opens up my WP site within the FB mobile app’s “browser” OK. However, within the FB mobile browser, my WP site can’t be pinched up/zoomed to enlarge images. That’s a problem because the images have text and need to be zoomed up/enlarged to be read. The zoom up works fine when users visit the site using other mobile browsers (e.g. Chrome, Safari), but not when using the FB mobile app.

    Is there a WP plug-in or something else missing in the back-end of my WP site causing this issue with FB’s mobile app? I visited other sites via the FB mobile app and their pinch-up/zoom works no problem, so I’m at a loss and would appreciate any suggestions/assistance.

    On what site are you working? You created this account only five hours ago and don’t own any sites on WordPress.com.

    If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another host, please ask for help at https://wordpress.org/support/forums instead.

    Thanks for the reply Kokkleh, I went to the wordpress.org forums. What I can’t figure out is how to start a new topic there. All it seems is available are existing topics and none are close to my question. I searched Google for how to “start a new topic (on wordpress.org forums)” and it led to a page with a link “start a new topic” — however after I clicked the link I realized that was wordpress.com, which doesn’t apply to me, as I’m using Open Source at another host. So….do you know how I can start a new topic at wordpress.org? I can’t seem to find a button or option there to do so (even though I have logged in successfully).

    Hi there,

    So, the way to create a topic over at WordPress.org is different than here. Here, there is a button at the top of all the threads that you click to create a new thread, whereas there, you need to scroll to the very bottom of the thread page, and there should be fields that you can fill out to start your new thread there. Here is a screenshot of what you should see:
