Feature Image and Slideshow short script not working

I just purchased the Gridspace Theme and no matter what I do I can’t get slideshows to work the way they are shown in the demo with a featured image up top that rotates through the images connected to the post. I get X amount of thumbnails, one per image attached to the post. If I click on the image it takes me through a manual slideshow. Not what I want. I want something identical to the “Surf Slideshow” featured in the theme demo.
