Featured post – why does it also appear in the body of the page?

  I’ve added a featured post as an introduction to my site. It looks great, but the text is also repeated as a standard post on the same page. Can I hide the standard post?

  I’m using theme Rebalance with a static front page to display the articles of a seasonal newsletter. The blog is sutherlandsentinel.wordpress.com
