    would like to understand fees associated with transferring vs. mapping domain – having trouble with both.

    Hi there,

    The fees are the same – either action will require you to buy a paid plan for the site where you want to use the domain, and then you can use the free domain in the plan to either map or transfer the domain.

    The only difference is if you map the domain to us, you will still need to pay your current provider for the renewal of the domain itself each year – buying a plan from us will not pay for renewing the domain with a completely different company.
