'fetch video' not working, nor able to assign categories: none shown

  I signed up this afternoon for WordPress Premium, but I am unable to attach categories – it forces me to accept the category ‘uncategorised’, and when I try to post a video, the ‘fetch video’ button does nothing. It’
  snot that my video is the wrong format, it’s that it doesn’t even look for it. Do I have to wait for you to actually collect the cash before the Premium benefits work?

  I’m sorry for the trouble you’re having. All the features should be working for you already, but I’m happy to help sort out what’s going wrong.

  Could you send me a link to the page where you’re trying to add categories? If you need, you can add more categories under Posts > Categories in your site’s dashboard here:

  https://petermerlincane.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category

  But if you let me know what page you’re on where it isn’t working for you, I can look into that.

  With WordPress.com Premium, you should be able to upload videos as described on this page: VideoPress

  Can you send me a link to the page where you’re trying to post the video (where you see that “fetch video” button)? That will help me investigate what’s going wrong with your videos.

  Hi there!

  I managed to get the video uploaded by a different means, so that’s fine, but still stuck on the’categories’ problem.

  Here’s the link to one of the pages – I we can solve it on this one, I think I’ll have no trouble on the others! (Hope you can see it because it is set to private at present…, can change that if necessary!)

  Hi Peter,

  I just looked at that post, and it looks like you successfully added the category “Glimpses of a Past Unknown” to the post. I also checked your categories under Posts > Categories in the site’s dashboard, and I see that you have a number of other categories set up with posts assigned to them.

  Are you all set with this now, or can I do something more to help?

  Thanks!! I finally realised I had to set my own categories, not look for a list of existing ones I could join my blogs to… and from then on it was easy. The first attempt at a blog now seems to have worked rather well, and I really do appreciate your having gotten back to me!! Have a great evening!
