Hi there,
You cannot add captions to a tiled gallery hence the text that appears on hover cannot work this kind of media blog. You can try other gallery/media blocks that allow for this. Please read this guide for more information: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/gallery-block/

hello,
thanks for your answer.
There is a way to add the “title” to pictures and I know this will display in the slider but I would like to understand how change font settings -
Hello there,
Happy to help you with this.
I see the tiled gallery is in use there. The tiled gallery doesn’t facilitate captions.
This enhancement has been requested here: https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/11794 and I’ve added this request to the tally.
I hope this helps!

yes, interesting post : I understand that I used the old gallery before converting it into a block, the one where the caption text would display on mouseover on tiles.
And when the user clic the slider would open with captions.Do you know how to go back to the old gallery ?
-
Hello there,
It’s possible to switch blocks by clicking on the blog icon.
Please see demonstration this here:
I hope this helps!
-
yes, but switching blocks won’t change anything
I would prefer to rebuild a knew gallery in the old way
-
Hello there,
When the block switches to an ordinary gallery, you will be able to add and show an image caption.
Please see how this would be done here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/gallery-block/#captions
I hope this helps.

Do you still have one of these on your site where you have not changed the gallery-style? It sounds like you are set on achieving the Overlay Image Title effect.
-
no, I only need one gallery.
May be I could apply this Overlay Tilte effect on the actual one ?Do you know how to change title font in the slider ?
-
yes I tried this but the caption will be displayed on the tile and It is not ok for me
.
That is the default for galleries. If you’d like to see the caption below the image, try adding single images instead:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/.

therefoiam, forgive me : I just remembered that I got a page where you can see the previous version of the gallery.
This is the one I need:

I finally found a solution to my problem by replacing the images in the gallery that suits me and renaming it “home page.”
I then created a new page and a new gallery for the one that was missing.
It’s tinkering, but I couldn’t find another way.I hope wordpress will not change my settings in 2022, when the “classic style” will no longer be supported
Thanks for your help
-
Thanks @julienfischel, we’ll pass that feedback along so we can hopefully make the galleries block better before then.

Hello,
I finally figured out how to work with the classic editor on all my pages:
I click on the +, add a block and there you have to choose “classic” and if it does not appear click on “browse all”I then switched to “HTML editor” and I was able to copy the code of my old gallery with the captions
