Fixing my formatting issues

Hello, I am having issues formatting my webpage. I believe this wordpress account is hosted through Georgia tech drupal.
I am having issues expanding the width of the screen. Meaning that when I look at the site, its actually only using the middle half of the screen, causing thigs to look completely different when I put things in on the dashboard vs. when I look at it in my site. I was hoping to have a gallery of plans with links to our research projects, which I have accomplished, but the formatting is so horrendous it is not usable. How do I expand what amount of the screen I use? I have looked online and it either told me to use several different customs CSS inputs (none of which worked) or to use a layout option button under appearance which I don’t have.

  • Hi there,

The site you are referring to appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on an outside hosting, and not a site hosted directly on our WordPress.com service.

To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and in this case it looks like your sys admin is using the free open source version of the WordPress platform to spin up sites on sites.gatech.edu. Because of this we are not able to help with your issue as it lies outside of our system. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.

You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

You may also wish to contact your sys admin for more assistance.

Hope that points you in the right direction!
