Follow the news, not ‘blog’
-
Hello! I would like to change the text belonging to the magic words [blog_subscription_form]. I would like the text to be ‘Follow the news’, because I use my blog as a news site and I don’t want everyone to know it’s actually just a blog. Is that possible and how could I do that?
Thank you for answering my question

What is the URL of the site you are trying to make this change on? We’ll be happy to take a look and see if we can help.

That is sweet! I actually found the answer in the meantime. It’s hard to get logged in here to ask a question, but today I succeeded and someone had already found the answer. My website is https://natassavassiliou.eu . Under each article I now put the code
[blog_subscription_form title='Follow the news by Email' subscribe_text=' ']
Only the letters are H2 I think. Can’t I change that into H3?

Hi there,
The site natassavassiliou.eu appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on Strato Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.
You can confirm here: https://gwhois.org/natassavassiliou.eu+dns
To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and Strato also happens to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here. Because of this we are not able to help with your issue as it lies outside of our system. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.
I see you are using the Jetpack plugin on that site, so I do not recommend the WordPress.com subscription shortcode
[blog_subscription_form]but instead you will want to use the Jetpack-specific code[jetpack_subscription_form]instead: https://jetpack.com/support/subscriptions/Also if you need more help with this, you will need to ask in the Jetpack forums here:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/Only the letters are H2 I think. Can’t I change that into H3?
You may need to ask in Jetpack support to clarify, but most likely you will need to edit the CSS to make the text smaller if the default text is too large, it cannot be changed by editing the shortcode itself.

Hello Jerry,
Thank you for the answers!
First of all: I didn’t know I could have my site hosted by WordPress. Would have preferred that over the host I have now. Although I see it isn’t possible here: https://wordpress.org/hosting/ ??In the meantime I have already found how to manipulate the subscribe button.
[blog_subscription_form title=”Follow the news by Email” subscribe_text="My custom text” subscribe_button='Sign Me Up' show_subscribers_total='1']
It works with ‘ and with “. Someone else had already found and shared it on your forum.
Thanks for the Jetpack-link. I agree this is better. For the letters I solved the case by making the H2 letters a bit smaller :-). I’m an Alpha so I use Alpha solutions.
Thanks another time and I would like to know if it’s possible to host my website at WordPress, if you want.
Sincerely,
Natassa V.
