"Follow" user experience
-
Hi, I’m just trying to track down what a non-logged in WordPress user sees when they click “follow” in the Follow Widget. I can’t find it anywhere. I want to see what the experience looks like.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The best way to do this is simply to log out of your account and view your site. You could also use a private/incognito browser window to achieve the same thing without logging out.

duh… I should have thought of this. Well I’m glad I asked, because the text field for email has no label or placeholder text in my theme. Just a blank text field and a button. I know that placeholder text is an HTML5 input attribute so it isn’t something I can add via CSS. Do I need to contact the theme designer to add “email address” placeholder text to the email field? I’m using Standard Theme

That’s something inherent to that follow widget. So it isn’t something that CSS or the theme designer would be able to change.
I’ll bring it up with the devs here, but for the moment the best bet is just to make sure that you set up the widget text so that the instructions are clear for both logged in and logged out users.
