Hello, I have encountered recently a follower who does not appear to have a WP acct. For safety and security purposes, could you please verify this account. The account in question is ‘ckrohnc’. There is no image, nor any link to their account.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Anyone with an email address can follow your site if your site is set to public. A WordPress.com account is not a requirement.
There also isn’t any rule that someone with an account should use their real name, add a profile picture, or a link to a site to their profiles.
The only things we ask for when someone creates an account is a username, email address, and depending on how they sign up, a password. So there is no way that we could possibly verify who is actually following your site.
If you don’t want people you don’t know to follow your site, you’ll have to set it to private and only invite those people you do want to follow.

The hidden setting means we ask search engines not to index it, and the big search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo (among others) respect that request.
But it doesn’t block search engines from indexing it, meaning search engines can choose to ignore that instruction, and it certainly doesn’t block access to your site to anyone who knows the link.

Also consider you have social media sharing buttons and the Like and Reblog buttons active on your site, all of which allows other people to easily share links to your site on their own sites or social media accounts where other people can see it, and even without those buttons people would still be able to share the links by just copying them from their browsers. So there are many ways that people can still find your blog, even without using search engines.
