Followers and Subscribers
-
Hi, I would like to know if when I publish a post if my subscribers (under the ‘users’ option) get an email of my post as well as my followers. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, not necessarily.
Each Follower https://wordpress.com/people/followers chooses how to receive notifications of new posts and there are several options. Email is only one of them. They can also choose to view new posts only in the WordPressdotcom Reader and/or get a ping notification of newly published posts in the upper right corner of the screen (the bell icon), if they are on the website.
Email Followers https://wordpress.com/people/email-followers will only receive notifications of new posts by email.
Hope that helps answer your question, but let us know if you need more help.

Hi,
Thank you for the quick response. I understand that my followers will receive notification but what I am having trouble understanding is about my Users that have the role of “Subscriber”. -

I guess I don’t really understand the difference between Followers and Subscribers. -
Hi again, I overlooked that your site is currently marked Private. On a Private site, people you have invited to view your site are called Viewers. They become Followers if they then sign up to receive notifications of new posts. Here’s more on User Roles https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/
Just to clarify, where do you see the link for Subscribers in your dashboard?
-
My site is actually public. I think you’re looking at an old one. It should be “LaCiociaraItaliana.com”.
The subscribers I’m talking about is under “Users”, on the left side of my WordPress screen, then under “Role” it says “Subscriber” for each user.

Hello again, no worries, but we could have shortened the process a bit had you provided your site address at the beginning. :) Your site isn’t hosted here on WordPressdotcom, but with BlueHost and is using the standalone WordPress software.
Just to clarify, this support forum assists users of the WordPressdotcom platform and the guidance provided here may not be relevant to standalone WordPress.org sites hosted with an external hosting provider (e.g. Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.). For more information on the differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
The Codex entry for WordPress User Roles can be found at https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities and the best place to get help with your above question is at https://wordpress.org/support where they have more experience with the software you are using.
Best wishes
