Followers are not receiving email notifications of new posts

  Good morning! it seems that some of the e-mail addresses that were entered to follow our blog over 5 months ago have dropped and that those individuals are not getting e-mail updates when we post a new blog entry. Can you help?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there!

  Can you please give me the email addresses for the individuals who aren’t getting email updates anymore? (You can put those email addresses in your reply, and they’ll be hidden from anyone except staff.) I can use those details to investigate what’s going on. :)

  I will get them to you…I know that when I tried to put in my personal e-mail (email visible only to moderators and staff) that I got an error message that said it was not a valid e-mail address. thanks

  Hi there,

  I just tested out the blog subscription form on your site by entering the personal email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) that you mentioned, and it worked for me. I’m not sure why it didn’t work for you before, sorry about that! You’ll get a confirmation email at that email address so you can confirm that subscription.

  Hi there,

  I only see one email address there — can you please reply again with the second email address you mentioned?

  I checked the address (email visible only to moderators and staff), and that email address isn’t subscribed to your your blog at faithfully-following.com. Can you please ask the owner of that email address to try subscribing to your blog again? They’ll get an email they can use to confirm that subscription so they get your blog updates there.

  I’ve started suggesting people unsubscribe and re-subscribe but this is aggravating and puts us at risk of losing followers.

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry for the frustration! I don’t see any sign that followers were dropped or removed from your site (unless they did so themselves). If you’d like to check your list of followers yourselves to see if others are missing, you can also do that from your Followers stats page.

  I checked the email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) that you mentioned, and that’s linked to a WordPress.com account. That person is subscribed to view your updates in the Reader, but not to get email updates. If they’d like to start getting emails, they can turn on email updates on the Edit Blogs I Follow screen in the Reader.

  Thank you. The two emails I sent you were my own personal that was receiving the posts. And a good friend who was receiving the post via email. At this point I have been spreading the word that those who are following via email may want to unsubscribe and resubscribe which is what I had to do. Apparently that is our best option at this point.
