  My followers count jumped from 54 to over 700 in the last week. How do I know these are all legitimate followers and that I have not been hacked?

  They’re definitely legitimate.

  What happened here is that you connected with Facebook via Publicize, so via Facebook, your blog gained an additional 717 followers.
