Fomer Admin Trying to Impersonate Site

We had an individual who worked for our organization briefly. In that time it is believed that they changed the page roles to be the administrator with one other staff member having editing privileges.
Our website has recently changed (without our doing) to be linked to a static staging page created by the former employee. I have contacted our domain host to get the static page unlinked from our website URL. I am wondering if there is any way to regain control of the wordpress site or at the least, have it permanently deleted so this individual no longer has access. Thanks in advance.
