Forgotten Password, and Email Address – can’t access old site

    Hello, a few years ago I set up a blog halobakingemporiumandchocolaterie.wordpress.com

    I didn’t edit or add to it for a few years as I was ill. I’d like to start work on it again, but cannot log in. I’ve tried every combination of user name and password I can remember and no joy. I clicked through for a password reset, but nothing came through to the accounts I currently use. I think when I last edited the blog I may have been using an email address that got hacked and I ended up abandoning.

    I’m utterly stuck now as I can see my old work but can’t get into it! To prove the blog is mine I still have the Etsy log in that it linked to, and I also still use the twitter handle I did then that was also linked to the site. Any help most gratefully appreciated!

    Hi there,

    If you don’t have access to the email address you used to create that account we’ll need some other proof of ownership. However, we cannot accept any type of proof. We can only accept one of the following things:

    * A transaction ID for any upgrades purchased for the account

    * The WordPress.com account activation link, which we sent to your email address when you first registered with us.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the quick reply. I don’t have access to the email account I used to set up the site many years ago, so I don’t have the activation link. I never spent any money on upgrades as I just used the free version, so I don’t have the transaction ID for any upgrades, as there were none. I do have proof that the linked Etsy and Twitter accounts are mine, as well as the original photos used on the blog – failing that I have ID that proves I am who I say I am.

    If I can’t gain access to the site to edit it I’d rather it was deleted so I can start again without there being a duplicate account. Is that possible if none of my proof is acceptable?
