Formatting help with free version: fonts & text blocks
-
I’m using the free version, and I’m trying to do two things. (1) Change the default font – neither of the options in the Support section are available. (2) Change the size of a text block.

Hi there,
(1) Change the default font – neither of the options in the Support section are available.
Which site is this for? I see you have a few on your account. The ability to change fonts is one that is usually dependent on the theme you are using. Not all themes have the ability to switch fonts, but if you can let us know which site you are working on we can take a closer look.
(2) Change the size of a text block.
Can I see this on your homepage? Or is it a specific place I need to look at? Are you trying to change the size of the text within the block? Or are you trying to change the size of the block itself (to make it wider or narrower) instead. Can you tell me a bit more about what you are trying to set up?
Thanks for the additional info!

It’s for the newest site I created, yesterday. I just wanted blank canvas, and that wasn’t an option to start with. I don’t remember which theme I started with.
Font – I need Arial. I don’t want an actual theme, it needs to be very basic.
Text block – I’m trying to change the size of text block. The theme I started with has different sizes. I need to resize them.
Honestly, forcing someone to choose a theme to set up a site creates many problems. “Blank Canvas” needs to be option from the beginning, like it used to be.
Thanks.

Hi there,
I see that the site you are referring to and that you were able to switch the theme to Blank Canvas. Does this solve your text block issue?
In terms of the fonts, with Blank Canvas, you should have the ability to change fonts via the Global Style option:
https://wordpress.com/support/custom-fonts/#changing-fonts-with-global-styles
Are you seeing that option from your end?
