Formatting information appearing in post

    My recent new posts have had formatting information appear in the final post- for example, my last one para post had the following info pop up in the published post – see below – what can I do to prevent this text from appearing?:

  • Hi there, that may happen if you’re pasting text directly from Word or another rich-text application. (“Mso” in the code stands for Microsoft Office.)

    Like with any content-management system, we recommend that you only paste in text from plain-text documents to avoid this type of formatting garbage.

    You can convert a Word document to plain text by going under the Save As menu and selecting plain text or .txt for the file type. Then open your new .txt document in a plain-text program like Notepad. Now paste your text from Notepad into the WordPress editor.

    You can also try the Paste from Word button in the Visual Editor, which may strip out the offending Word formatting code.
