Formatting Menu within a Theme or Moving to a different Theme

I’ve been using Comet for a while but people are complaining that the top menu is not noticeable enough. I’d like to increase the font size or do SOMETHING to make it more noticeable but I don’t see any way to do this.
For grins I tried moving to a different theme (like Mystique) but got nervous when all the things didn’t seem to transfer over (for example, I have comments turned off on all posts, but when I switched themes all the posts had comment links)

You may want to check out the Custom Design Upgrade. This allows you to customize your theme, change font sizes, change layout and colors, hide unwanted elements, and more. However, this does require at least some basic experience with CSS and HTML.
