Free Custom Domain Name Credit

  I just upgraded to the Personal plan that includes a custom domain name for free for one year. However, I have already been paying a yearly fee for a custom domain name with WordPress.

  Can I claim the one free year with my existing domain name that I have paid for already? Can I get a credit for the fee I have paid this year for my domain name?

  Hi there,

  We can do this, yes. I just want to confirm – your domain is currently good until May 2020. So if we renew it, that will extend it to May 2021, and then the free domain credit in your plan will no longer be available.

  Let us know if that’s what you want, and we can take care of it.

  I see that the renewal date is April 27, 2021 but should it not renew in May 2021?

  Ah yes, we do auto-renew domains a month early, that’s so you won’t lose the domain if something happened liked the card is declined or expired.

  The expiration date is now May 28, 2021, but the renewal will be attempted April 28, 2021.
