Free Domain Change Disabled Website

  Hi, I’m using the free WordPress plan, but made an error in my domain name so I decided to change it (still with the free .wordpress subdomain), but now whenever I go to my website all that’s there is a message saying the domain isn’t authorised to use domain mapping, and to pay for a subscription. Does this mean I need to delete the entire site and start over? If so, can I use the same domain?
