  If I purchase domain name from other site and I want to build a site and host it on word press, is it possible? Is this feature free?

  Hi –

  Yes, you can use that domain with WordPress.com. There’s 2 options to use a domain in that way. Both options require a plan, so it is not free.

  1. Mapping: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
  2. Transfer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

  You can register the domain directly with WordPress.com too. Then all your site-related things are in one space.

  We do have free sites too if you want to get started with one and then upgrade at a later time.
