Free Redirect

I want to redirect my WordPress site to a non-WordPress url. Is there an easy and free way to do this?
-
Hi –
Yes, you can redirect your free WordPress.com site to a different URL. It’s not free. Here are the instructions:
Please share the URL in question so we can confirm this information for you.

Thank you for your response. The url in question is https://trinitybaptistsmithville.org

Thanks! The site redirect is the only option for free WordPress.com sites. What you’ve shared though is a custom domain which means you can access the DNS records and point the domain elsewhere.

Thank you for the instructions; however, we want to redirect our site to a non-WordPress page (to a GoDaddy page). Are there instructions or a fee for doing this?
-
No worries. You’ll just update the DNS records on the domain through your WordPress.com account because we are the domain registrar for that domain. You own the domain, though, and can use/point it anywhere.
It looks like these are the instructions you’ll use from GoDaddy’s side of things: https://www.godaddy.com/help/change-nameservers-for-my-domains-664

Is there a way to redirect my home page to a specific page on another website, or will it just go directly to the home page of the other website?
-
You can easily set up a link for the homepage in a specific area of the new site. The site redirect would push the entire old site to the front page of the new site.

trinitybaptistsmithville.org isn’t using WordPress.com. So I can’t provide exact instructions on how to work on that site menu. Generally speaking you would just add a link to the non WordPress.com site in the menu.
For example, if the non WordPress.com site is your blog, then you could title the menu item “Blog” with a link to that.
Does this make sense?
