Free themes: customization restricted for everything! What happened?
-
Hello. I had 2 sites on this same account: bloggerunextraordinaire and writerunextraordinaire. I was unsure which to use so I got both in at the time.
Eventually, I figured writerunextraordinaire would be the site I would use. As I was picking out themes and playing around trying to customize them, I noticed that fonts and colors were customizable for free for bloggerunextraordinaire (1st site) but not for writerunextraordinaire (requiring paying for upgrade). This applied when picking the same themes for both. Why?
I thought maybe because I created blogger first, and as a default main site you are allowed to have free options but on multiple sites you get a restricted access.. Fine, so I deleted bloggerunextraordinaire. This didn’t fix the problem.
Now, with writerunextraordinaire as my only site, I cannot even change the color font of a basic theme, when these options were available for the same theme but on bloggerunextraordinaire. Why is that?
Please get back to me when you can with some clarification… It’s driving me nuts!
Thank you!

Why is that?Whether it is your first or one hundred and first site makes no difference. I think there are some limited color options on some themes, but this is rare. You may be confusing the preview or trial option available on any theme at Customize which allows you to choose between various fonts, custom color palettes, background designs, etc. Such modifications will not be saved, even though the Customize menu area invites you to think you can “Save & Publish” your modifications with a big blue button.
