If you want additional features such as a custom domain, no ads, live chat support, etc. you can purchase any of our plans (like the $5/month Personal Plan)

  Every time I sign in to set up a website, it takes me through the six steps which offer $5 and up. I don’t see any options for free

  If you go through wordpress.com/free does it work?

  Also, what domain are you trying to use?

  No it starts at $. I already have a .com domain so it just needs to transfer

  If you want to use an existing .com domain, you won’t be able to use the free plan, as using your own domain on WordPress.com requires one of our paid plans. This applies whether you transfer the domain here, or simply map it.

  You will only see the free plan option if you select the free *.wordpress.com or .blog subdomain on the domains step.
