  i was trying to open a ‘totally free’ website without buying another domain name. Seems I am stuck in the system with a new domain name on a free one year contract. How do I eliminate this and open the freebie without buying a domain?

  Hey @oldamos,

  You can create a ‘free’ website here:
  https://wordpress.com/start/free/

  When setting up the site/account you can select to use a free WordPress.com domain. Which would look something like this, example: yourgroovysite.wordpress.com

  There are no free one-year contracts on WordPress.com. I can see you have created the site searchingthewordofgod830246020.wordpress.com. This site is currently on a free plan, and you do not need to pay for it unless you decide to upgrade.
