freeing up domain name

Hello, I cancelled my site and was told my domain name would be off your server in 1-2 days and it still isn’t. Wondering why and how this can be fixed?

I guess you’re talking about artofmandylee.com which you set up here on 1st May. You need to add modlook to the tag box on the right to flag up the fact that you still need help from staff. I’ve done that and you’ll need to wait for someone to respond. It’s best not to make duplicate threads though.

I’m so confused. Clearly I just cannot navigate around here. Waiting for responses on the site and I don’t even know what modlook is. I’m now patiently waiting for help.

It sounds like you cancelled your upgrade and at that point you’re no longer eligible to live chat I’m afraid.
Staff will respond in due course. I believe domains that are cancelled almost as soon as they are set up can be released within a few days but it is probably dependant on how quickly the registrar responds to WordPress.com so I suppose there are many variables.

Your domain is process of being cancelled and released. As it was cancelled so soon after registration it should be released in the next few days — normally a week after the cancellation date.
Will I be notified if and when the domain name is freed up?
You won’t receive a notification so please keep checking to see if the domain has been released.
If the domain was cancelled in error I can restore it to your account — although we would need to do this quickly as the domain could be released any day now. A refund has already been sent, so you would need to purchase a new plan first.
If you would rather wait for the domain to be released, that’s fine. I just wanted to give you the option to get it back sooner :)
I don’t even know what modlook is.
‘Modlook’ is a tag that can be added to your forum thread if you need staff help.
