  Hi All,

  I’m sticking this up hoping an admin will take a look :)

  I was wondering if it was possible to get my blog promoted on the front wordpress.com page? I m currently raising money to go towards the famine in East Africa by doing a sponsored jump of beachy head cliffs (UK). It would be great to get some promotion from here to drive traffic and hopefully donations?!

  There are millions of WordPress.com blogs and Staff make the selections re: which blogs are displayed. See here please > Five Ways to Get Featured on Freshly Pressed Read also: Getting More Views and Traffic If you frequently publish have original content that is not found elsewhere on the internet and you learn how to promote it effectively in about 6 months time you will have established an small flow of organic traffic. If you your content lacks originality and is simply a lure for those you want to click in and make significant donations then be aware that this is not likely to happen quickly if at all.

  You may also wish to use a social vibe widget and an unencrypted PayPal donation button. Also note that most of will donate only through bona fide charitable organizations that we are sure will convey the funds to those who need it. You are competing with very large charities that have a lengthy track record so your expectations need to be based in reality.
