Front page displays: Youre latest posts
-
New to blogging, just set this up a few days ago. How do you limit the number of blog posts published to your front page? I thought the setting under ‘wp-admin / settings / reading / Blog pages show at most’ would control this but it doesn’t seem to have an impact. Or is is the ‘wp-admin / settings / reading / Front page displays: your latest posts’ control it? If so, what is considered a ‘latest post’?
ThanksThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Hi,I thought the setting under ‘wp-admin / settings / reading / Blog pages show at most’ would control this but it doesn’t seem to have an impact.
That is the correct place to set the number of posts displayed on a blog page. The site https://darksidehalfandbeyond.wordpress.com/ presently displays five posts on the front page, which seems to be all of your posts. Try setting it to a smaller number, and save the change at the bottom of the Reading Settings page.
Or is is the ‘wp-admin / settings / reading / Front page displays: your latest posts’ control it?
This option determines whether the front page displays your latest posts or a static page.
If so, what is considered a ‘latest post’?
“Latest” means “most recent.”

Ah ha, found the ‘trick’ I was missing, needed to turn off “To infinity and beyond Scroll Infinitely”. Thanks for the info.
