Front page image error

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I’m using the Edin front page template. However, after everything was going fine and the featured image was in place normally and at the right size it suddenly expanded to fit the size of the whole front page and has ruined the whole layout of that page (only) and i have tried copy and pasting into a new page, which hasn’t helped.

    any advice would be appreciated.

  • Hi there,

Can you describe how it used to look? And if the current front page is the one you copied, can you give a link to the original page on your site?

What I’m seeing on your site at the moment is correct in terms of how this theme works – with the front page template, the featured image is used as a background to all the content you add to the page from within the editor, and on your site that’s everything up to the text “Images Credit”

The image does not appear as background to content added dynamically to the page, which on your site is only the featured page section containing the page, “No research is ever quite complete”. Help us learn more about Cerebral Palsy. (That page appears to be the same one set as front page, though – I wouldn’t recommend setting the front page as a featured page as well. The Featured Pages section is intended to showcase other pages on your site from the front page.)

If you don’t want the image to cover the background for the full editor content, you’ll need to remove the featured image, and use that image inside a cover block instead. Then you can add only those sections of content that you want over the image inside that cover block.
