Frustrations setting up a gallery
-
Hi, I’m new here. I’m trying to do something that should be easy. I’m trying to get a gallery started. In the new post area, I’ve pushed the Gallery radio button, and I’ve studied your help text. I’ve saved the post as a draft numerous times, and I’ve uploaded a number of images for my gallery. But neither “photo order” boxes nor Gallery Settings section appear in the “place media” area. I’ve tried this in a few different themes, Twenty Eleven, and now iTheme(something). In addition, I don’t know which size of image to use, thumbnail or other. As the Gallery radio button shows in the one section, why can’t i see other features for actually formatting my gallery? If it matters, I use FireFox. Thanks so much! — Joel

Have you uploaded the desired images through the desired post or page? The images need to be attached to use the gallery, which means they need to be uploaded when editing/writing the post/page.

Hi MacManX, Thanks for your questions. I’d like six images in the gallery, in a certain order. At this point, four thumbnails sitting in my draft, sort of piled up on each other. But I don’t see any gallery settings options or buttons in the Add Media page. Huh?

That post has inserted images from the library, but no attached images.
The gallery requires attached images.
In order to attach an image, it needs to be uploaded when editing/writing the post/page.
