Frying to change my username, I misspelled it.

That is most likely because your domain was not registered at the time. I see that you registered your account an hour ago, so I would try to change your username again.

I apparently cannot spell anything including my messages! I think I actually formed two accounts! So one of them has the correct username; should I just leave the second account and not use it?

Yes, I would just use the one with the correct username and if you want, scrub the email from the one you are not using.

How do I “scrub” the email from the account I don’t want. I tried to sign on this morning and could not. Now WordPress seems to have merged the accounts into one account with two sites??!!

We do not and cannot merge sites. When I say “scrub”, mean removing your email from the account and replacing it with a dummy or spam email so that you can disassociate yourself from that account. Technically, we do not delete accounts, so here are instructions on how to scrub the account if you choose:
