FTP username and password

  Good evening WordPress crew,
  I recently created my new site with wordpress(www.fossil3d.com) and i want to upload some non-media files with ftp. My problem is that i do not have an ftp username and password and i cannot connect to filezilla to upload my files to my website. I would need some help on the issue because it is big part of my site to share Grasshopper scripts and Rhino files(Design programms) for free.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Delete this post. Isn;t that tool available? Dont want my ftp infos to go public.

  Hello!

  There’s no way to delete a post here in the forums.

  For security reasons, we do not allow users FTP access to their WordPress.com site. What exactly are you trying to transfer?

  I want to upload .ghx (Grasshopper files) on my webpage. It is a big part of what i plan to do with the site. I want to upload ready grasshopper scripts for free(educational resons) so that i can attract more visitors.

  I’m not familiar with grasshopper scripts. Are you looking to display code? Or allow users to download the code file?

  We have solutions for both of these. To display code, you can use the sourcecode shortcode:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/posting-source-code/

  Or you could use a Gist:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/gist/

  And to allow users to download your code files, you can upload them to your Media Library and create a download link:

  These files open with a design plugin(Grasshopper) for Rhinoceros Design programm. I want people to download my files and be able to open them with Grasshopper. It is not a programming language itself, they are scripts that allow you to create different shapes and volumes. And i can’t upload them with Add Media function in Dashboard.   Now i am just using external links to do this job but it is not working quite well for me. I want to make it simple so that people can just download it directly from my website.

  Unfortunately, I think that’s as good as you’re going to get. You could use Box.com as your external source and then you’d be able to utilize the Box.com Widget. But It looks like that will have the same pitfalls as your current set up.

  You may want to consider moving to a self hosted WordPress site. Here’s some info about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

  You prevent people from uploading, in case of corrupt files entering wordpress servers?

  There are restrictions on file types we allow to be uploaded to our servers. You can see the accepted file types here:
