Full width page on theme twenty fourteen

    Hi Folks
I attended this morning’s webinar on setting up a website using wordpress and asked a question on changing the width of the text in a theme twenty fourteen page so there was less white. I followed the suggestions provided but it doesn’t change anything. In fact I had already set this at full width page.

I also tried to change the CSS code starting around lines 864 and 893 replacing max-width settings from 1260px to 100% but this didn’t do anything as well. So, I am obviously doing something wrong or not explaining what I need to do properly.

At the moment theme twenty fourteen has a lot of space on both sides of my text as can be seen on my site dataedgegenealogy.com and I simply want to allow the text in the centre to use at least some of that space.

Unfortunately, I am recovering from my 80th birthday celebrations and a virgin as far as using wordpress.

Trust this makes sense. I would really like to resolve the issue so I can move on to the next one.

Trust you are all safe and well.

  • Hi there,

The site you mentioned isn’t using the Twenty Fourteen theme and hasn’t been updated in a while, so I assume you’re referring to a different site. Can you please let me know the address of the site you’re working on so I can point you in the right direction of getting support?
